Next membership meeting: The Upper Rio FM Society, Inc. (URFMSI) will hold its second quarterly meeting of 2008 on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30pm. Minutes from the January 2008 meeting will be available for download soon.

MEETING PROGRAM: The Upper Rio FM Society is pleased to welcome member Larry Goga, AE5CZ, and David Bonal, KE5TBF, an applications engineer at National Instruments, who will provide an interesting presentation on LabView, a graphical software package that helps create flexible design, control, and test applications. With LabView, engineers and scienists can interface with real-world signals; analyze data for meaningful information; and share results through intuitive desplays, reports, and the Web. Larry and David will demonstrate this software and provide examples that relate to Ham Radio.

The Upper Rio FM Society meets quarterly, specifically on the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October at 7:30pm. All members and visitors alike are welcomed to attend!

Our meetings are held in the fellowship hall of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, located at 114 Carlisle Blvd in southeast Albuquerque (at the intersection of Carlisle and Central Blvds). The purpose of the meetings is to conduct normal business of the URFMSI and to tend to other matters as appropriate. The October meeting is the Annual Meeting of the membership, at which three members are elected to the Board of Directors.

Interesting programs and presentations usually follow the business portion of the meeting. Topics are announced in the membership mailing (meeting announcement and roster) that occurs before each meeting.

Below is a map illustrating the meeting location. Many members monitor and talk on the 146.90 (-, 67 Hz PL) repeater while enroute to and from meetings. Feel free to join them to chew the rag or request additional directions to the meeting location.

If you are GPS enabled, the coordinates to the meeting location are:

N 35 degrees 04.740 minutes
W 106 degrees 36.264 minutes
(WGS-84 datum)
